Consumption of Half A Glass of Wine Extends Life Expectancy by Five Years
Dutch researchers have learned that consuming half a glass of line may extend life expectancy of men by five years. Researchers found that mild long term alcohol consumption (up to 20 g/day) of all types lengthened life by two years, as opposed to no alcohol consumption. Studies suggested that light wine consumption of less than half a glass of day, extended life by two and a half years in comparison to those who consumed beer and spirits. These men’s life expectancy was five years longer than those who abstained from alcohol altogether. The researchers also found a strong association between wine consumption, and decreased risk of dying from coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, and death of all causes.
